WHEELER, Victor Desmond (1903-1951)[SS# 527-05-6193], 47, was killed April 3, 1951 in a Piper Pacer (NC5582H) that crashed near Johnson's Lee, Santa Rosa Island, while attempting to land in a field east of the cantonment. Wheeler, a construction engineer working for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, was one of three occupants in the accident. Two others survived.

His wife, Pauline Williams Wheeler (1915 - 1998), whom he married on February 3, 1940, is buried next to him in Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona. They had two children.
