7-11 (#) (-1950)

In the News~

June 21, 1950 [LAT]: “Fishermen's Boat Dashed on Rocks, but Four Escape. Four fishermen escaped death early yesterday when their boat was dashed on the rocks at Pyramid Cove, San Clemente Island. Lee Doyle, 6543 E. San Juan St., Compton, captain of the 36-foot boat, the 7-11, and one of his three-men crew trudged 12 miles over the island's rugged terrain to Wilson Cove, where they notified the Coast Guard. The cutter Perseus was sent to the rescue and a tug put out in an effort to salvage the 7-11. Doyle said the boat slipped her moorings during the night.”
