December 3, 1930 [SF Examiner]: “Fisherman Shoots Self. Avalon (Catalina Island), Dec. 2.—Edward Abrahamson, a fisherman of Long Beach, aimed at a bothersome seal today, slipped on the deck of his boat and fatally shot himself in the chest. Abrahamson died in Avalon Hospital. ”
