April 11, 1949 [LBI]: “A mysterious shotgun blast aboard the two-man fishing boat, Coral King, off San Clemente Island Sunday afternoon claimed the life of Harry Anderson, 45, Los Angeles. Coast Guard spokesmen said Anderson was killed when the gun allegedly went off accidentally. They said Anderson was pulling the gun toward him along the deck when the blast came. Theodore Mailon, boat owner who lives on the craft, was the other man aboard, the Coast Guard said. The boat was to be brought into Long Beach harbor for an investigation, authorities said.”
