Fallen Arch Rock, Santa Catalina Island

Arch Rock, Santa Catalina Island is shown on a map in The Islander on August 1, 1916. It was located at Long Point, the widest part of Santa Catalina Island. Sometime in the first quarter of the 20th century, the arch fell.

Duncan Gleason states: “At Long Point there used to be an arch that drew many tourists. Several years ago the keystone fell out of the arch rock at Long Point.” [Gleason, Duncan. Islands of California (1950), p. 42-43).
