BAUER, Harry J.

BAUER, Harry J. (1886-1960) of Los Angeles was a prominent entrepreneur who became president of Edison International (1933). He was co-sponsor of the Puritan-American Museum of Natural History expedition to Baja California in 1958. There is a "Harry J. Bauer Collection in the History of Science" at the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena. He used the ship that was used for the expedition.
Bauer's Nightsnake, Hypsiglena torquata baueri, is name for him.
