BRYAN, William A.

BRYAN, William Alanson (1875-1942), director of the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History from 1920 to 1940, geologist and zoologist who made several collecting trips to the Channel Islands. He collected plants on Santa Barbara Island in 1922. Bryan also served as a director of the Southern California Academy of Sciences. In 1915, Bryan also wrote a book on the Natural History of Hawaii.
