BETTY AND THE BUCCANEERS was filmed by the American Film Company (Flying A Studios), in part, on Santa Cruz Island. It was written by J. Edward Hungerford, directed by Rollin S. Sturgeon, and released in 1917. The silent film starred Juliette Day, Charles Marriott ad Joe King. At just over an hour long, scenes filmed at Cueva Valdez, Santa Cruz Island begin in minute 33.
