Black Dolphin (#290301) (1963-1968), 42-foot wood sailing vessel out of Morro Bay which was stranded on Christmas Day, 1968 at Chinese Harbor on Santa Cruz Island. Glen Miller and his local charter boat, Emerald, towed her half-submerged hull across the channel, but when the cable snapped, she sank in six fathoms of water. According to a local news article of January 29, 1969, Black Dolphin was “remembered from past visits to Santa Barbara for her unusual crew of dogs, chickens and a goat.” [MVUS 1970]
