CALDER, James Alexander

CALDER, James Alexander (1895-1979), Los Angeles-born son of Jacob L. and Penelope Calder who served in World War I in the Coast Artillery at Fort Scott. Calder was an avid birder and member of the Cooper Ornithological Society and Western Bird Banding Association (founded in 1925).

Calder collected on Anacapa Island (1941) with Edward M. Hall and Sidney Peyton.

Calder died at age 83 in Tulare, CA.
