NOTE: This plate an example of souvenir porcelain imported by the Wheelock family of Wisconsin, who began selling china pieces before the Civil War. The Wheelock family did not manufacture the china, but were the importer. Their primary sources for hard paste porcelain were Austria and Germany. They made souvenir china available from the early 1890s through 1922 – with most pieces being produced prior to WWI (1914).
