CATALINA SOUVENIR SPOONS: CODDING BROS. & HEILBORN

Codding Bros. & Heilborn, North Attleboro, MA (1879-1918), manufacturers of jewelry, silverware and novelties:

Arthur Evelyn Codding (1842-1900), lead partner in the firm, died suddenly during a meeting of the Attleboro Savings Bank directors on Dec. 22, 1900.
James Albert Codding (1849-1910), brother active in the firm until he resigned c. 1900 due to ill health.
Edwin Abiel Codding (1854-1923), the last surviving firm member. He died on January 12, 1923.
Leo A. Heilborn (1861-1902) was born in London on Oct. 26, 1861. At the age of 29 he moved to Plainville, MA where he served as a silversmith's apprentice. In 1891 he was taken into the firm of Codding Bros. In about 1897 they incorporated as the Codding & Heilborn Co., where Heilborn served as superintendent of the plant. Leo Heilborn died on April 8, 1902. He was 41 years old.
