CROMBIE, Steve (1956-2000)[SS#548-04-8869] was a free-diver of some note who drowned in a swimming accident at Cortes Bank on August 1, 2000. Fraser Point, Santa Cruz Island, was his favorite dive spot, and there is a lobster hole “named” for him there — Crombie's Hole. A cross was placed at the west end of Santa Cruz Island by his friends. He was survived by his wife of 18 years, and three daughters.
