Dauntless (#157526) (1898-1928), four-masted wood schooner built in Hoquim, Washington in 1898 for the E. K. Wood Lumber Company. She spent much of her career hauling lumber; her last paying voyage was to San Francisco with a cargo of copra from Tonga in 1923. Dauntless was purchased by Samuel Goldwyn pictures, and blown up for the making of the film, The Rescue, at Cat Harbor, Santa Catalina Island on October 3, 1928. Merritt-Chapman & Scott was hired for the task.
