EGGLESTON, Steve (1955-2010), diver who drowned while SCUBA diving for lobsters alone at the wreck of the Valiant near Casino Point. He suffered an apparent embolism. Eggelston was diving off his boat at the time. He surfaced in distress and was transported to the decompression chamber where attempts to ressuitate him failed. His nickname was nickname, Beetlejuice, because he was so full of life and love of the ocean. He was 55 years old and was nearing retirement from DWP.
