August 23, 1967 [LAT]: “3 Rescued as Fishing Boat Sinks. The 34-foot fishing boat, Eileen D, capsized and sank early Tuesday near Santa Rosa Island 95 miles west of Los Angeles, the Coast Guard reported. Two other fishing boats in the area rescued the three-man crew, including Joseph Ray of San Diego, the owner. Names of the other crewmen were not available. Coast Guardsmen said the boat rolled over when a big bait tank broke loose and shifted to one side of the craft.”
