FRASER, W. (?), United States Coast Survey employee who aided in topographic work of the islands and ledges east and west of Isle au Haut and Deer Isle, Maine in 1874. There is no evidence Fraser worked on the Channel Islands, however, employees often applied each other's names to geographic features in other parts of the country. Fraser Point on the west end of Santa Cruz Island bears his name, probably assigned by Stehman Forney.
