GILMORE, Raymond Maurice

GILMORE, Raymond Maurice (1907-1983), associate curator of mammals at the National Museum in Washington, DC before moving west, where he was a marine biologist and an expert on whales at the San Diego Natural History Museum. Gilmore died of a heart attack on December 31, 1983 as he was about to board a whale watching boat the day before his 77th birthday.
