Georgie (#) (?-1964), 40-foot lobster boat which sank in a cove at Santa Cruz Island on November 17, 1964, according to the Los Angeles Herald Examiner. Her owner, Tony J. Souza and his dog were rescued by Coast Guard helicopter and flown to Point Mugu.

November 18, 1964 [LBI]: “A Coast Guard helicopter plucked a Camarillo commercial fisherman and his dog from his sinking boat Tuesday off gale-swept Santa Cruz Island. The fisherman, Tony J. Souza, radioed for help at 6:33 A.M., reporting his 40-foot craft, the Georgie, had hit rocks off the west end of the island and was being smashed by 10-foot swells driven by a 30-knot wind. The helicopter from Los Angeles International Airport rescued Souza and his pet dog at 7:45 A.M. from the decl of the foundering boat. The boat, which sank, was based in Ventura.”
