Guaiacum

Guaiacum (#227058) (1927-1928) l6-ton (gross tonnage) gasoline-engine vessel that burned at San Clemente Island on September 29, 1928. Three people were on board at the time. Everyone survived. [MVUS 1929, p. 912]

The vessel's name is another name for Lignum vitae, an extremely dense wood that sinks in water.
