October 10, 1965 [Long Beach Independent Press-Telegram]: “Woman's sea dive kills her. A 29-year-old Long Beach, Mrs. Antonine Hall, of 762 Gladys Ave., drowned Saturday off Catalina Island on a scuba-diving trip. Sheriff's homicide detectives said the woman apparently was participating in a group dive, as was her husband, George,when she drowned about 3 p.m. She dove from a vessel managed by Pacific Divers Supply Inc., 11 39th Place. A Coast Guard helicopter flew her body to Little Company of Mary Hospital, Torrance, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Detectives said investigation into the exact cause of the drowning still is under way.”
