Kruydt immigrated to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1924, and from there to Boston, MA in 1927. By 1930 he was working on Santa Cruz Island.

KRUYDT, Jean (c. 1883- ), Santa Cruz Island laborer, born in France, according to the 1930 census. He was married at age 24, and although the census lists him as widowed, he left behind a wife, two daughters and a son in France —this according to his grandson who contacted the author of ISLAPEDIA in October 2018 from Bordeaux, France, and who provided his photograph.

Kruydt immigrated to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1924, and from there to Boston, MA in 1927. By 1930 he was working on Santa Cruz Island.
