MACHADO, Joseph F. “Chepe” (1922-1979)[#SS569-07-7853], Avalon resident killed at the Connally-Pacific Quarry on Santa Catalina Island. He was 56 years old. While backing up a quarry truck full of material, the ground gave way, sending Machado and the truck full of material to the bottom of a cliff.
