MCGRANE, Sherrie (c. 1976-2019), 43, died as a result of injuries sustained in a golf cart accident at Santa Catalina Island on August 23, 2019. She died a week before her 44th birthday on August 31.

August 27, 2019 [AZCentral]: “Gilbert Perry High School senior receiver Matt McGrane caught two passes in his varsity football debut Friday night. Shortly afterwards, he was told that his mom had been in an accident in California and was hospitalized with a head injury, according to Dane Bebak, a senior lacrosse player who is close to Matt McGrane and helps run the Perry Hype Squad Twitter account. After the game, Matt McGrane drove to California to be near his mom, Sherrie, who died Sunday. "We are heartbroken by this news and our sympathies go out to the McGrane family during this difficult time," Perry Athletic Director Jennifer Burks wrote in an email. "The Perry community has already begun to rally around our player and his siblings." Matt has an older sister Alyssa, 22, and younger brother, Miles, 8. Football boosters are asking for donations of gift cards for restaurants and grocery stores or general gift cards and monetary donations, Burks said...”


August 30, 2019 [TI/Avalon]: “Deputies responded to the 900 block of Avalon Canyon Road regarding a traffic collision. A motorist made a U-turn too quickly, the passenger, a 43-year-old female Arizona resident was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. She suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital on the mainland.”
