Mount Orizaba, Santa Catalina Island
Mount Orizaba, Santa Catalina Island, 2097 feet in elevation, is the highest peak on the island. It is located in the center of the island, between Cottonwood Canyon and Cape Canyon. It is the only mountain on Santa Catalina over 2100 feet. A VORTAC directional antennae was installed on this mountaintop by the Federal Aviation Administration in the 1950s to guide aircraft into Los Angeles International airport.
