From Islapedia
National Geographic Magazine, published by the National Geographic Society organized in 1888 “for the increase and diffusion of geographic knowledge.” The first three issues are very rare. The 1904 issue is also very rare and valuable since it's the first issue that contains images. These first issues of National Geographic are one of the highest value magazines from the past 150 years.
