OGDEN, Adele (1902-1990), authority on the historic sea otter trade. Her in depth study of the California sea otter trade provides source material regarding many of California Channel Islands. Historically, sea otters lived among these islands, and the hunting of them for furs was one of the most profitable commercial enterprises of the day.
