PEIRSON, Frank Warrington
PEIRSON, Frank Warrington (1865-1951), New York born avocational botanist who lived in southern California (Altadena) for much of his life. He and his half-sister, Mabel Burnham Peirson (1876-1966), collected plants together on Santa Cruz Island from March 25-March 29, 1934. F. W. Warrington authored Trees and Shrubs of the San Gabriel Range (1934). Peirson died in Los Angeles at age 85 on May 1, 1951. His field notes (1908-1938) are in the California Academy of Sciences.
