PICO, Hercules M. (1874-1948) Santa Cruz Island Company ranch cook [Caire 146]. In the 1880 census he is listed in Las Cruces, Santa Barbara County, age six, with his single mother, 24, Susana Pico. July 9, 1896 Hercules Pico is a registered voter, age 22, in Santa Barbara. By the 1920 census he is listed as a hired man, 47, single, born in California to California-born parents. He died at age 73 in Santa Barbara on August 14, 1948.
