REA, Paul Marshall

REA, Paul Marshall (1878-1945), director of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History from 1933-1936. Rea had begun his career as a professor of biology at the College of Charleston. From 1907-1917 he was the secretary of the American Association of Museum, and president from 1919-1921. From 1920-1928 he was director of the Cleveland Museum. He followed Dr. Harold Sidebotham as museum director in Santa Barbara. Upon Rea's departure from the museum, he was replaced by Arthur Sterry Coggeshall.
