September 16-October 5 [Chester C. Lamb field notes]: “The caretaker here, Mr. Charles Roy and his wife, made us very comfortable… Mr. Roy tells me he has seen bald eagles at different times… Mr. Roy on another part of the island shot at one [bald eagle] with a 22 rifle but did not get it…”


September 16-October 5, 1927 [J. Elton Green field notes]: “Shot some mutton for the [San Miguel Island] house and helped Mr. Roy fix water pipes…”
