December 9, 1925 [TI/Avalon]: “Edward Swanson, aged 25 years, an employee of the Los Angeles harbor department, was killed at the rock quarry on Catalina Friday [December 4] when a boulder crushed him so that he died. According to advices, Swanson was standing with two other workmen, when the boulder, weighing 200 pounds, suddenly fell, striking Swanson on the shoulders and crushing him to the earth. He died on a launch en route to San Pedro. He leaves a mother in Yucaipa.”
