September 16, 1959 [News-Pilot, San Pedro] “Two men survive boat sinking. Two San Pedro fishermen were brought safe to port today after their 33-foot boat, Santa Sofia, sank off San Clemente Island Tuesday. They were in the water more than an hour befoer they were rescued by another San Pedro fishing boat, the Liberator. The Coast Guard said those rescued were Anton Klavich, the owners and operator, of 1125 Palos Verdes Ave., San Pedro, and an unidentified crewman.”

San Pedro, Sept. 16— Two San Pedro fishermen were brought safe to port today after their 33-foot boat, the Santa Sofia, sank off San Clemente Island yesterday.
