Scuba King (#) (-) was built at Anchors Way Boat Yard in Ventura in 1967 by Bobby Villegas. It has a GM V-8 /71 diesel engine and was built as an overnight dive boat.

April 22, 1968: “Wild winds toss boats in Channel. Skipper George Lillard of the Scuba King out of Ventura Marina and Leon Bray, a diving instructor for Marina Divers Supply, teamed up in an act of heroism to rescue a Reseda pair. From a distance Lillard spotted a tiny red object that turned out to be the coat worn by Parn Frances, about 28, astride the bow of a half-sunken craft off Santa Cruz. Douglas Hewitt, about 35, was clinging to an air-filled canister about 200 feet away. Bray swam to them with a line. The dramatic rescue was completed about 3:15 p.m. "If we happened by a few minutes later," Lillard said, they would have been gone—bobbing around in that sea...”
