Sport (#) (-1937), 35-foot lobster fishing boat disappeared in the vicinity of San Clemente Island sometime between Christmas and the first of the year with a crew of two – Frank Vincent of San Pedro and a individual only known as Fernando. The two were reportedly engaged in lobster fishing off the coast of the island. In early January 1937, the Coast Guard searched the area around San Pedro and San Clemente for the men. No information was found as to the results of that search.

January 5, 1937 [LAT]: “Plane helps hunt for boat. Missing craft missing with two aboard. Five Coast Guard boats and a Coast Guard amphibian plane from the San Diego base yesterday were searching the waters between San Clemente Island and San Pedro for the thirty-five-foot fishing boat, Sport, over due here since Christmas eve. The Coast Guard patrol boat No. 827 returned to its base here yesterday and reported it had failed to sight the missing craft. The Sport, with Frank Vincent and a man known only as Fernando, left here December 22 on a lobster fishing cruise to San Clemente Island. A search was started when the craft failed to return Christmas.”
