TAYLOR, Roy Edward (1894-1996) was born on September 14, 1894 in Carrollton, Mississippi, the son of Walter and Maggie Taylor. He had a high school education

1940 Census: Roy E. Taylor (44), his wife, Doris M. Taylor (27), and their 2-year-old son, Paul E. Taylor owned their home at 348 Eucalyptus in Avalon.

Taylor served as mayor of Avalon twice: 1950-1952 and 1958-1962.

Taylor died on August 6, 1996 in Plano, Texas at age 101 years ,10 months and 23 days. He is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Forney, Texas.
