Collections

The Santa Cruz Island Foundation holds thousands of photo images of various types, from early stereo views to family snapshots and photo albums to professional photographs that cover a range of California Islands subjects dating back to the 19th century.

These include photograph collections from various island owners and stakeholders, occasional visitors and early campers, and 20th century researchers. In addition to photographic material, holdings include manuscript materials, diaries, island company correspondence, personal correspondence, unpublished field notes and more.

Oral History Interviews include taped interviews with the last of the private owners, ranching families and Channel Islands occupants.
